A Little Ice Hangs On!

I took another drive up to Burr Pond in Torrington this morning. In the western shallow portion of the lake, a little ice remains. However, the large pond area is wide open, as it has been for a few weeks. Usually the ice remains solid untill almost April 1st accross the whole pond. This year that ended about 2 weeks ago. At other lakes and ponds across the state such as Candlewood Lake the ice never even formed this year!
