Every little bit of rain helps! Today's rain is certainly not enough to erase the deficit, but it will help with lawns, gardens and lowering the pollen count.

Many places picked up between a quarter and half inch of water today. A few places even a little more. The numbers above are early estimates from some of the rain gauges around our state.

Even with the heavy rain we picked up just over a week ago, we need much water. Rain deficits for the time span of January first through yesterday are:

-5.50" for the Connecticut shoreline

-4.49" for Central and Northern Connecticut.

There are a few shower threats in the 8-Day forecast, but not extremely heavy. We still need a solid month's worth of rain to get us close to where we should be. For now every little bit will help!
