I spent some time looking at water temperatures at the various bouy's across the Long Island Sound the last few weeks. I have noticed the water that had been up to 55 degrees has now dropped to 51 to 52 degrees! Also the lakes across Connecticut have lowered into the upper 40s. Take a look at this graph above and notice the water temperatures in the CT River. You can see they peeked in the lower 60s during the mid-April heat, but currently the water temperatures have dipped into the lower 50s! Typically water temperatures keep warming up in the Spring, instead of dropping by almost 10 degrees!
