After days of cloudy weather the sun finally appeared again on Sunday, which made it perfect for a day trip. I visited a little know place called Walkway Over The Hudson Historic State Park located in Poughkeepsie, New York. Walkway Over The Hudson is a former railroad bridge built in 1888 that was turned into a pedestrian walkway in 2009. At a height of 212 feet and a total length of 1.28 miles, it is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world! In addition to walking, biking and rollerblading is permitted. There is also a refreshment stand with picnic tables at the entrance.
Hours of operation are 7am to sunset, and for more information visit
