Rain that fell overnight produced a new all-time record for me (dating back to August 2011) 4.19" per hour rate. Thats some heavy stuff.

More importantly, there have been 0(ZERO) days this month so far with full sun. (see graph to compare to the last 5 years). Notice a couple of things.
- Obviously the clear days(blue) in 2012.
- The rain total for Bridgeport since 2007 in Mays has increased each year.
- We usually see more Partly Cloudy Days(Gray) then Cloudy Days (White) but this year we have more days with full clouds.
- Hartford actually only averages 3.6 Clear days in May in past 5 years

The 2012 numbers are from 1st - 9th. With BDR being at 2.91" (including this mornings) looks like the trend may continue with each May having higher rain totals. Normal rainfall for the month for BDR is 4.03". 10 days into May and we are close to that.

If you're wondering why my monthly total is 4.22" and BDR is 2.91" so far its mostly because of last night's rain. BDR recorded .77" yesterday and I recieved 1.67" which mostly came at 11pm. I got caught in a local downpour. My 2 other rain gauges confirm this.+
