As we move into Memorial Day Weekend, many people are wondering if they'll need sunscreen or an umbrella.  Well here's the deal.  It certainly will be a mixed bag dependent on what day you have plans.  Here's the bad news:  It will certainly rain on your parade, the ultimate question is, "When is your parade?"

We'll start off with tonight.  We've got a weak cold front that should stall over us tonight, but we probably won't see any convection associated with this.  What's that mean to the non-meteorologists?  Basically we shouldn't have any big storms tonight, but will probably see some fog overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.

Saturday morning fog should burn off, and based on my recent forecasts, it will probably be slow to go.  What this means is that you should get a good spot at the beach in the morning!  It won't be great to tan, or burn if you're me, but you'll be in a prime location when the low clouds burn off.  You should be able to enjoy the great weather, and will most likely remain free of any pop-up showers that will ruin the start of your weekend.  We should get into the 80s across the state, so it'll be the best outside day of the weekend for sure!

Sunday is the day that things unfortunately turn around for the worse.  We've got a frontal boundary that stalls off in our area.  The problem is where the shortwaves move along this front.  Right now I'm thinking Sunday will start off on a high note, and end on a low note.  If you've got outdoor plans for Sunday, your best bet is to try and do them earlier rather than later, because the shower potential increases as the day moves on.

Memorial Day is going to be iffy dependent on where you live.  I'm hopeful that the majority of the rain stays to the north, but it really depends on where this front stalls.  If it stalls to the north, the temperatures will be warmer, and skies will be clearer.  If it stalls right on top of us, any shortwaves that move along the front will ruin our day.

Either way, keep your outdoor plans on Saturday, but beyond that I'd keep the tent handy if you've got an outdoor barbecue after that!
