SPC has upgraded their risk forecast to an area of Moderate Severe Weather threat for portions of Central New York, Northeastern PA and fringes of western Vermont and Massachusetts.

Conditions are extremely favorable for strong, damaging straight line winds, and this is the reasoning for the moderate risk. 

Expected storm initiation in the area will be any time after 3pm.  The visible satellite are showing agitated cumulus beginning to grow in central and northern CT.
