While the current models are showing 95-96 degrees in Windsor Locks on Wednesday and Thursday, keep in mind it can easily go hotter or colder. However, the point I want to make is that with the 8 NWS Observation sites in the state (Bridgeport, Danbury, New Haven, Oxford, Hartford, Windsor Locks, Windham, and New London) there is plenty of space for variance in between each NWS site. People can not see these spread out stations as benchmarks. With the right conditions, 100+ degrees is possible in isolated locations. There are always going to be towns or neighborhoods warmer or cooler than some of these NWS sites. With 169 towns in the state, and only 8 of representation, you do the math- more extremes are possible elsewhere than the NWS sites.
