The warmest towns will be found away from the shore, but it only takes a few miles to make a big difference.
The Quinnipiac Valley, which eventually merges with the Connecticut River Valley will be the winners. The fact that these areas have the lowest elevations for inland towns is what makes them extreme zones, whether its for heat or cold.
Starting in North Haven and running all the way through Central Mass and Southern New Hampshire, temps could reach as high as 105 degrees. As of now that is unlikely, but currently the jackpots (I am assuming the Springfield, MA area) should check in around 102 degrees.
The National Weather Service is forecasting 99 degrees for the Northern CT Valley (Windsor Locks area) and most heat waves are under estimated.
