A microburst impacted the south side of Torrington, Connecticut on June 22, 2012. Many reports of false funnel clouds, strong winds, and damage were obtained by the National Weather Service in Albany, New York. Hillside Cemetery being heavily damaged by the strong wind which was in the range of 90-100 miles per hour, uprooted trees, stripped many trees, and even carried the fallen trees feet away from where they once stood. The storms impacted northern Connecticut the hardest leaving thousands without power.
