Yesterday was an interesting day. 4 different lines developed in the same area around the Hudson Valley and moved southeast. The first one being the most intense here in SWCT. Vivid Lightning, Loud Thunder, and 1/2" of rain in 30 minutes. There was 1500J/KG of instability in the morning for the first line. After that atmopshere stabalized and the next fw lines werent as severe.

Many Lightning strikes.. Just a couple reports from Westport/Norwalk.(Im sure there were a ton more)  Four strikes have been confirmed

The players of yesterday were..

  • Upper level low over Northeast didnt close off until afternoon which became Occluding over SNE with a trowel like feature forming.
  •  Surface Low deepened near Rhode Island
  • Multiple shortwaves moved through
  • High pressure over Upper Mid West Slowly making its way East
  • Cold front pushing through
