Thunderstorms over the last week

Over the last week there have been some thunderstorms. Some have been severe. I live in New London county so from what I know the thunderstorm that we had here last Monday, June 25th, 2012 was the only one even close to severe. It did create a power outage at my house and at my grandfather's house.
Thunder and lightning have always looked cool to me and they probably always will. The day after the thunderstorm you could tell that there had been some flooding due to the ruts in the ground at the shooting range.
