The Fourth of July ended up being pretty nice across Connecticut. We had the rain in the morning, the sun and clouds in the afternoon and no doubt the heat and humidity.
Late in the day, we also began to see the storms...very isolated and only one that was severe. The good news is that the cold front did not come through in the afternoon, which could have created explosive storms. But, with the front coming through Thursday morning, it won't pass through with severe weather.
The image above shows the surface conditions at 2pm on Thursday. With the cold front to our south and winds from the northwest, it should be a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, warm temps and much lower humidity.
Friday should be another nice day, maybe a touch more humid, but still rather comfortable. But, notice back to the west the hot and humid air out ahead of our next cold front that drapes southwest from the Great Lakes. The means late Friday and Saturday will be a lot more humid and with that front making a run at us on Saturday, we cold see some scattered showers and storms.
