As of 12:30 p.m. rain continues, but the precipitation shield is weakening.

Some heavy rain echoes are still showing up along the CT/MA border, but breaks in the action are showing up across eastern CT. When looking at the radar loop, the coverage of rain is becoming smaller. Also, the overall trend is for the northern edge to shift southward.

Bottom line:
Periods of rain will continue through early afternoon, but the back edge should cause the rain to start tapering off by mid to late afternoon.
