At 2:30 p.m., the back edge of rain was approaching the CT/NY border, but at the same time, many locations are currently experiencing heavy rain.

Keep those umbrellas handy for the next few hours, especially across eastern CT. Moderate to heavy rain covers most of the state, but the back edge is approaching the extreme western CT.

Periods of rain, which may be heavy at times, will continue this afternoon.

The rain will start tapering off between now and 3:30 p.m. for western CT, but will continue into the late afternoon for portions of eastern CT.

Scattered showers remain possible right through the P.M. commute, however any lingering showers are expected to be light and scattered.
