What a difference a few days can make in temperatures. On Wednesday the high was 99 here at my station in Hamden, with a heat index high of 116. Then temperatures during this morning reached a low of 60 degrees with the high occurring at midnight of only 66 degrees. The difference between the heat index and the low temperature today was 56 degrees!  Today and yesterday were also the coolest days so far this month.
