Beautiful Summer Weekend in Connecticut

I took a trip to Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT with wife and family today. The sun was warm, the air temp was in the 70s, eventually rising to 81°F. Wind was light with blue skies and some cumulus clouds around. I was lucky enough to capture the marine layer breeze which made it all the way into Hartford County.
Here I'm facing southrast and I matched it with the satellite image at the time. Sure enough the animation shows the sea breeze moving inland.

Here's a panoramic-view of Hartford County, while up about 750 feet.

There was a small gust while we were up there which caught us by surprise. It was generally a calm wind day even up that high, but a small gust came through at a certain level. Ironically enough when I got home to Norwalk, my weather station had a max gust reading around the same time I was up there. Very interesting.

I'll leave you with the official temperature data for July 20, 2012: Have a great weekend.
