The image above is the severe weather forecast for Thursday from the Storm Prediction Center.
You can see the yellow shading from Illinois east including all of CT. This is a slight risk for strong to severe storms.
The set-up is a warm front coming up from the south increasing our heat and humidity at the same time that a cold front is coming in from the north. This combination could spark off some strong storms. Timing will be key, as it usually is. If the storms occur earlier in the day, they won't be as severe, although they could feature very heavy rain. But if we get into the warm and and humid air and the storms fire up later in the day, they could be strong with hail and wind being our two biggest concerns.
Stay tuned to Wxedge, wtnh.com and News 8 on Wednesday for an update as this system evolves.
