The image above shows the latest update from the U.S. Drought Monitor as of Tuesday morning, July 24th.

It takes into account the storms we got last Wednesday and then the steadier rain we got last Friday.

So...is our drought getting better? Unfortunately, no.

Most of Connecticut continues with "abnormally dry" conditions with northern portions of Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties now back into a "moderate" drought.

There is some good news...recent rainfall has been very beneficial in Southwestern Connecticut. Southern and Lower Fairfield County and the shoreline of New Haven County is now free of any drought concerns.
