Flash Flood Watches have been issued for portions of Connecticut.
Thunderstorms with torrential rains tonight are expected to drop heavy amounts of rain. With some intense rainfall, flash flooding is a concern.
The current Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 4 p.m. through Friday morning.
Precipitable water values in excess of 2.5" on the forecast models indicate that the atmosphere has a high potential content of water that can fall to the surface. Rainfall amounts could exceed 1 inch per hour in some of the heaviest rains.
