As the title states, tropical storm (TS) Ernesto has officially formed (as of the 5pm outlook on 8/2/2012 from the National Hurricane Center). The image above is a first look at the storm as it strengthened to tropical storm strength. Here's some more info about the storm:

Winds: 50 mph, gusting to 65 mph

Moving: W at 21 mph

Nearest Location: St. Lucia 90 miles
