Above is the radar estimated rainfall from August 1st.
It shows the bulls-eye over northern New Haven County, most specifically Naugatuck, Prospect and Cheshire. Radar estimated anywhere from 3.5 to 5+ inches of rain. Some observed amounts were likely higher!
Also, watch how sharp of a cut-off there was from heavy rain to little rain.
There was a very narrow band of intense rainfall, meaning that some places just 10 miles south of the flooding only saw very light amounts of rain!
Weather is such a fascinating thing!
