Even though it’s still summer, the slide to fall has started. The big change right now is the beginning decrease in daily total light and sun angle.
The daily sunrise is now approaching 6 a.m., the evening sunset is now prior to 8p.m. In fact the daily light is decreasing by about 1.5 minutes currently. The sun angle is starting to decrease slowly, as the UV index is now about similar to the last days of April.
As a result of all this the daily high and low temperatures are sliding at a rate of around 1 to 1.5 degrees now per week from this week forward.
So these changes are minor in the beginning, and you might not even notice it at first. But by Aug.31 which is the Meteorological end to summer the sunset will be 7:23, with the average high temperature down 3 degrees from the first day of August! So if your tired of Summer, hang on Fall is rapidly approaching!
