Unsettled, Cooler Weekend

Beautiful weather is on the way for Thursday once our evening storms wind down tonight.
The image above is the current surface map zoomed into the Midwest and Canada. You can see a cold front pushing into Minnesota toward the Great Lakes, and this front is due to arrive in Connecticut late Friday.
It looks like early Friday should be nice, although it's gonna be hot and much more humid than Thursday. Clouds will begin to thicken up Friday afternoon and storms could arrive as early as Friday afternoon. But the best chance of some heavy rain and storms look to be Friday night and Saturday morning as the actual front is pushing through Connecticut.
If the front were to be a quick mover and press east into the Atlantic, we would have a perfect, crisp weekend...but it looks like this front will stall out once it gets into Eastern Connecticut and may not budge completely east until sometime on Sunday.
So...what does this means for our weekend? One thing looks sure...cooler temps only in the upper 70s to around 80° beginning Saturday and lasting into early next week.
As far as rain goes, the best chance of heavy rain and some strong storms looks to be Friday night into Saturday morning, up until about 9am.
Saturday will probably have more clouds than sunshine and we could see scattered showers & storms at any point. I am not expecting a washout, but not the best day either. Overall, I think the farther west you go, the more likely you'll see more sunshine and less rain.
Then on Sunday, everyone should have much drier weather....no doubt the better half of the weekend. If the front begins to push east early, we are sunny and great from start to finish state-wide. If the front takes its time clearing out, we still could squeeze out a few leftover showers on Sunday, but mainly early and especially in Eastern Connecticut.
Overall, it looks like Sunday should be a pretty good day, but again, Sunday will be entirely based on how quickly the front gets out.
