The cold front is arriving right on schedule Friday evening. And as suspected, our models are slowing the front down which means it's gonna be tough to clear on Saturday, but beautiful on Sunday.
So...let's time it out using our "Microcast" computer model that I am using this evening at 5, 5:30 and 6pm on News 8. This is the 12z or 8am run - the latest one available to me at this time. At 10 and 11pm, I can show the updated 18z (2pm) model and see if anything has changed. But I have looked at some other models as well, and my confidence is getting pretty high with this forecast since there is now quite a bit of concensus among most of the models as far as timing goes.
The image above is Saturday at 6am. Based on everything I'm seeing, this looks to be the bull's eye of the rain. Although no severe storms are expected, some heavy downpours, gusty winds and small hail are not out of the question. I do not see a big flooding threat at this time, but it's that time of the year where a heavy downpour can pile up quickly, so Erika Martin will be watching all morning long should a flash flood threat arise.
