Boat owners gather their belongings, Aug. 20, 1991 in Dartmouth, Mass., after Hurricane Bob swept through southern Massachusetts.

Hurricane Bob did not make a direct landfall in Connecticut, but it came close.

The hurricane tracked over Block Island and into southeastern Massachusetts. Winds gusted as high as 100 mph at New London and much of eastern Connecticut had flooding rains. The strongest of the winds missed just east of our area.

Hurricane Bob affected Connecticut on August 19th, 1991.
