My fathers Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station in East Haven, CT recorded a wind gust of 58 mph at 9:47pm. The strongest wind gust he recorded in Hurricane Irene was 52 mph. I would consider this very impressive. From my own personal research I found these other wind gust that stick out. These numbers are constantly changing and going up. These are as of 9:55pm (Only Davis stations for apples to apples comparison).

Fairfield: 59 mph

East Haven: 58 mph

Stamford: 57 mph

Clintonville/North Haven: 50 mph

Morris Cove/New Haven: 50 mph

Stony Creek/Branford: 46 mph

Norwalk: 44 mph

East Wallingford: 44 mph

Guilford Harbor: 43 mph

Woodbridge: 43 mph

Naugatuck: 42 mph

Long Wharf/New Haven: 42 mph

Meriden: 39 mph

Orange: 37 mph

Bethel: 35 mph

Hamden: 33 mph
