With the windy conditions accross the area late yesterday, I decided to head down to New Haven Harbor to check out the scene there. I parked at the Amistad dock and headed out to the end of the pier. Walking the pier was quite the challenge, as the wind kept pushing against me! As I reached the end it became more difficult to stand! The wind actually hurt against my face!
I brought my portable weather station along and measured the winds averaging 30 to 35 mph with a high gust of 39.5 mph! As you can see in the video the waters were quite churned up and the wind sounded loud!
The winds and waves were even worse in other locations as there were reports of winds between 48 to 58mph from Tweed-Airport to East Haven Town Beach! Also I saw in the Central Long Island Sound the waves were reported at 5 feet!
