A cold front is still on pace to move through Connecticut late Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.
The moisture field extends pretty far out ahead of the front, and that means clouds will be increasing tonight and we could see some light rain after midnight.
On Wednesday, it looks like there are two periods of time when we have the best chance of rain:
First is in the morning. Light rain showers are possible for the morning commute.
It looks like we could see some breaks during the afternoon. While it will be mostly cloudy, we could see some peaks of sunshine and while there could still be a few stray showers, it should be mainly dry.
The best chance of rain will be in the evening, as shown by the image above. As the cold front approaches from the east, this will be the best chance for more of a widespread rain, some heavier downpours and even some non-severe thunderstorms.
The front is a quick-mover and will be out quickly on Thursday, leaving us with sunshine for the afternoon and another shot of cooler temperatures.
