Some areas saw over 4 inches of rain in a relatively short period of time today.

Radar estimates that the heaviest rain fell along the I-95 corridor from Bridgeport to West Haven. In that area, 3 to 4+ inches of rain was estimated by radar.

As for official reporting stations, Bridgeport broke a record for daily rainfall (Sept. 28), coming in with 4.80 inches. New Haven had observed 2.44 inches.

The worst flooding appears to have hit the Milford area. The flooding was so bad that water was flowing into the Connecticut Post Mall. As a result, the mall was closed for several hours this afternoon.
