It's now October and the leaves are showing their colors across the state!

In the above map you can see the in the red shaded areas from northern Fairfield County across to Litchfield, Hartford, Windham and Tolland Counties the leaves are approaching moderate color now.

In the blue shaded area, which is the northern areas of New Haven County to Middlesex and New London Counties the leaves are in the turning stage with some areas of moderate showing up.

In the green shaded area, along the shoreline and 1-95 the leaves are in the low to turning stage.

There are variations to this of course, the higher elevations will often be more change than a downtown city area such as Meriden or Hartford, where temperatures are warmer thus slowing down the color change.

Your best bet for the next few days into the weekend would be in the higher elevations of the state. Such as along Route 4 in Cornwall and Goshen in the NW hills, and along Route 197 in Union and Woodstock in the NE hills!

(note) I will update this map next week!
