Forecast temperatures at 3 p.m. Saturday, vs. 3 p.m. Sunday

Temperatures reached the 70's today, but a cold front keeps us in the 50's tomorrow.

Readings early this afternoon soared well into the 70's. The warmth will be short-lived as a rather strong cold front will usher in much cooler air for the day on Sunday.

Most of the state will only reach the 50's for highs tomorrow and as some rain moves in, watch readings slide back into the 40's. The raw feel will make it feel more like November, after today's warmth was more reminiscent of August.

October is well known for wild temperature swings. After some places came close to 80 degrees yesterday, and may do the same today, those same spots may very well dip into the 30's by Monday morning.

Last October was a prime example of just how extreme things can get.
After a low temperature of 37 at Bradley Airport on the 7th, the temperature skyrocketed to 85 degrees on both the 9th and 10th.
We all remember how the month ended too with the historic October nor'easter...

Don't be surprised if October has more wild weather swings. The first widespread frost has not yet occurred, but if the mercury rises to 70 degrees or warmer following the first frost, then it can be considered an Indian Summer.
