Most people head to the mountains for the Fall foliage season but the Connecticut shoreline has its own special beauty when it comes to Fall. I had an opportunity to walk along the shoreline in Old Saybrook this past week-end with my Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Babette and Teddie. The sun was setting and dark rain clouds were approaching from the West. A shaft of sunlight came through the clouds and lit up the scene. The wind was picking up and the marsh grasses were blowing the breeze. The sound of the rustling grasses and their waving, changing colors in the breeze was mesmerizing.

The Fall foliage is approaching its peak here in the Litchfield Hills. The predominant colors this year seem to be reds and yellows. Some trees are already past peak. As the mountain colors fade, do not miss an opportunity to see Fall's other colors along the shoreline.
