Forecast guidance for KOXC, Oxford Airport, tonight into tomorrow morning.

With cold air on the way, just how cold could it get?

Temperatures are forecast to fall below freezing across most of the state and with clear skies and diminishing winds, some towns could get quite cold.

Analysis:
MOS data and graphical guidance suggests that dew-points will fall into the upper teens in some spots. Even though low temperature are only forecast by those models to fall into the mid-20s, the potential exists for even cooler temperatures.

Forecast:
Most inland towns should fall into the mid and upper 20's, while the shoreline probably holds a few degrees milder. However, the most outlying areas and any inland locations that are sheltered enough to have calm winds could dip into the lower 20's. Even though temperatures in the teens are unlikely, we'll have to keep an eye on those dew-points.
The dew-point is "essentially" as low as the air temperature can get. Any light winds may work to limit just how far temperatures can plummet. (the best radiational cooling happens when skies are clear and winds are calm, so that heat from the Earth's surface can escape into the atmosphere)

MOS dew-point forecast lows:
    MAV, MET
DXR: 20, 19
MMK: 22, 22 (Meriden)
BDL: 21, 21 (Bradley Airport)
IJD: 19, 21 (Windham Airport)
OXC: 20, 17 (Oxford Airport)
