Above map is the surface pressure and surface temps with Satellite.

Look at your barometer. Should read close to 1030mb. Thats unusual for this time of year. My last highest reading was 1036mb on December 3, 2011 at my location. Thanks to a clear night and calm winds we dropped to 20s in most spots and breaking some record lows.

Almost seems like every week or so we’re getting note worthy Low temps. Sept 11,12,..16,17,..24,25..Oct 7,8…now 12,13.

A link back to the last cold shot. Oct 7&8 Lows

While the Highs lately are below normal, let’s go over the well below normal values which are the lows.

Todays lows in the 20s are 15-20 degrees below normal. If it was January that would translate to below zero to single digit temps. That’s the pattern we are in for now.

Official Lows October 2012

Here's a look at the Stats since October 7th... Today is not on there yet. You can clearly see we've been in a below normal pattern.

BDR-BDL Data

Here's how the Watches and Warnings mpa looked for last night.

Watches and Warnings 10-13-12

This map might look busy but it shows... 500mb heights(black lines), 850mb temps (Colored background), and surface temps (numbers). Notice the trough in the NorthEast with 850mb temps below zero and the center part of country has the ridge with warm H85 temps. That will slowly shift eastward as we warm up a bit.
