The image above shows the surface forecast map at 8pm on Monday. This is about the time the front will be slicing through Connecticut. In fact, figure the front could arrive in Western CT by about 5pm and east of the state by midnight.

So that means we will spend most of the day on the warmer side of the front where we have a southerly component to the wind...and that means highs in the lower 70s. But the front is close enough that there will be more clouds than sunshine, especially late in the day.

While a few showers could pop up at anytime during the day, the best chance of rain is with the front itself which means our rain chances increase from west to east during the late afternoon and evening. Some thunder and lighting is possible, but this storm is not as potent as it once was, so severe storms are not expected.

Once the front clears CT, any lingering showers should taper off early Tuesday morning. The wind will shift back around to the northwest meaning another shot of cool air, but lots of sunshine Tuesday through Thursday before our next patch of unsettled weather arrives for Friday into the weekend.
