The foliage is becoming quite vibrant across the state this week. At this point most areas are showing high color! In the next five days the colors will be peak in most areas, except high elevations, which have dropped many leaves.

Litchfield and northern Tollnand counties have some color, but the highest elevations over 800 feet are reporting many bare trees. That would describe the tan color area! (based on me driving up there a few days ago.)

The highest elevations of New Haven County, like Bethany and Prospect have some bare trees too.

Some highlights for a foliage drive this weekend:

Route 15 from Hamden south through Trumbull is showing high color

I-95 East Haven South through Guilford is showing moderate to high color

I-84  Farmington to Waterbury is showing high color
