Well the 12z euro thinks so.
Looking at all the model guidance including the cmc, euro, and gfs they all agree that some sort of tropical system will develop and move north along the eastern seaboard. The question is whether this tropical system will be able to get picked up by a powerful cold front slowly plowing through the mid-west late next week. The other option is for this low to completely miss riding up the cold front and just head eastward off to the open Atlantic waters.
The 18z gfs just came out and it shows a drastically different situation from its 12z run. The 12z gfs run showed a high wind major flood even. And now the 18z gfs shows the storm missing all of the east coast and going out to sea after it flirts with the Florida coast.
What model is right? Hard to say but it is unlikely for this tropical critter to make a direct impact on Connecticut. One thing is certain that we need to keep an eye on this system.
