The NWS says that coastal flooding is possible Wednesday morning.
The combination of a persistent northeast flow of wind and an already vulnerable shoreline could cause minor flooding in the coming days.
Although only minor flooding is expected, the situation is bad enough for the NWS to issue a Coastal Flood Statement. They also go on to say that the flooding situation may continue through the week and a potential storm next week could only make matters worse.
Sections of New Haven and Fairfield Counties are most likely to be impacted, as winds out of the northeast will cause increased water levels across the western portion of Long Island Sound.
