Weather things I'm thankful for:

  • Dry weather today
  • Sunny weather today
  • Above average temps today and tomorrow
  • Dry weather for Black Friday Shopping.

So those are the good things we've got going on.  It is true, the weather is expected to be great for the day today as we're influenced by high pressure.  Above average numbers are expected for today and tomorrow.  The next weather rolling through will be in the form of a cold front passing by late Friday night.  This front won't have much moisture associated with it, and accumulated precipitation is expected to be under 1/10th of an inch with this frontal passage.  I think there will be some places around CT that won't even see a drop of rain.  The issue with this front is not the rain, it's the cold temperatures on the back side of this front.  High temps are only expected to be in the 40s for Saturday-Tuesday, even along the shoreline as we continue to CAA (cold air advection) through the first half of the week.

There is one other thing I am thankful for that I don't frequently get a chance to say.  I'm very thankful for my parents.  I was raised by two people who are truly one in a million.  Even at a young age, my family stood by me and helped me further my weather knowledge with picture books as a little kid, and real books when I got older.  They stood beside me when I told them I wanted to be on TV, and never doubted that I would be one of the lucky few who are actually able to do that.  They were by my side when I graduated college...backing me up when I was trying to get a job at WTNH.  They were the ones who told me to work hard at News8 for 18 months off the air, and with hard work, I would reach my goal.  If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been given the privilege to come in to work, and share what I love with you all, both on the air, and online.  Be thankful for some of the sweetest things in life...family.  Enjoy the beautiful weather, and Happy Thanksgiving!
