Every single time NYC got less than 3" of snow in December, they ended up with below normal snowfall for the winter since 1980. Every single time.
Seems like there's just 1 more chance this month on the 27th, otherwise odds are extremely high of a below normal snowfall total winter for them.
Meteorologist Joe Rao did a nice write up on it with more stats. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152303324285716&set=a.10150598820985716.678954.471145365715&type=1
