A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Northern Fairfield, Northern New Haven, Northern Middlesex, Northern New London, and all of Hartford, Tolland, and Windham Counties.

This advisory is in effect for the southern counties from 7pm tonight until 7am tomorrow morning.  According to the NWS, with temperatures around 30 tonight, and accumulation of snow up to an inch, in conjunction with a few hundredths of an inch of ice we could see very slippery travel on roadways tonight.  This will be especially bad on untreated surfaces.

The advisory for Hartford, Tolland, and Windham Counties is in effect from 10pm tonight until 10am tomorrow morning.  The NWS notes that we could see up to an inch or two of snowfall, with a trace to no more than 1/10th of an inch of ice late tonight into the middle of tomorrow morning.  They noted that the combination of light snow and freezing rain/drizzle will lead to slippery conditions on untreated roadways and sidewalks.  Traveling tomorrow morning on these back roads could be dangerous so use caution!
