Some very impressive wind gusts overnight last night. Thompson had a gust to 49mph and Bradley International Airport had a gust to 44mph. The wind will settle down!

A rather disorganized system crosses our area tomorrow. Most of the precipitation will be light rain. The onset could feature some sleet as dewpoint depressions aloft are expected to be around 10! So the initial dry air and marginal temps could lead to a little sleet. Surface temperatures will go above freezing statewide.

Major warming aloft kicks off Saturday. It may be tough to get this to the surface as clouds move through. I do expect the warm air to mix down Sunday as 850mb temperatures reach +13c to +14c for parts of the state. Subsidence and sunny breaks should boost temperatures above 60 in some areas.

Colder air settles our way Tuesday-Wednesday. A series of low pressure waves will try to throw a mix of snow, sleet and rain over the state Tuesday Night and Wednesday.

Much colder air expected later next week and the pattern could stay pretty cold though the end of the month!
