Snow brings traffic to a crawl on Interstate 40 Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in Knoxville, Tenn.
A low pressure system dumped snow across areas as far south as the Gulf States on Thursday. As the storm moved northeastward, snow continued across the Appalachians and the mid-Atlantic States. Although a few flurries were reported in Connecticut early Friday morning, the only area to see significant snow in New England from the storm was Cape Cod and the Islands.
