SUNDAY FORECAST UPDATE BY METEOROLOGIST SAM KANTROW

**A MESS OF SLEET/FREEZING RAIN FOR THE MONDAY PM COMMUTE, ESPECIALLY INLAND**

**WARMING TREND INTO WEDNESDAY**

**A FEW CHANCES FOR RAIN THIS WEEK**

Things get very messy today around noon as a system moves through.  We'll start off with some light snow statewide, gradually changing to sleet for some, and freezing rain for others with cold air trapped at the surface.  This will likely lead to a very slippery PM commute, especially in the hilly towns and valleys.  Temps will warm overnight, so by Tuesday morning's commute, we'll all be above freezing.  After that, mild but wet weather lasts into Wednesday, before we cool back down the end of next week.  As always, all the good stuff is available for you on  www.wxedge.com and you can always tweet with me  @samkantrow and check me out on Facebook at  www.facebook.com/meteorologistsamkantrow for weather updates!

TODAY: A few flurries possible this morning.  Cloudy skies statewide with snow starting around 11am-1pm across the state.  It changes to sleet and rain along the shore this afternoon, but stays snowy for the hills for a bit longer.  A few inches of accumulation at most!  Temps around freezing.

TONIGHT: A rough PM commute for the hills and places north of I-84 with freezing rain changing to plain rain.  Lows in the 30s with warming temps overnight.

TUESDAY: Clouds and some sun with highs in the low-mid 40s.  Rain at night

WEDNESDAY: We should stay mostly dry during the day, but can't rule out a shower.  Rain late afternoon, becoming heavy overnight.  Highs in the mid 50s!

THURSDAY:  Rain ending during the late morning, with falling temps during the afternoon.  Highs in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY: Sun and clouds but colder...highs in the low-mid 30s.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and cold.  Highs around freezing.  Could see some light snow overnight.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30s.

MONDAY: Sun and clouds...highs in the low 30s.
