Winds as of 4 a.m were gusting to between 45-61 MPH across Connecticut.
Winds as of 3 a.m were gusting to between 40-50 MPH across Connecticut.
Sikorsky Airport recorded wind gusts to 61 MPH multiple times this past hour and the core of strongest winds is moving through the state. Some areas have reported downed trees and power lines.
The image above shows forecast wind speeds at 80 meters above the ground. These numbers are approximate wind gust potentials. Notice the white area, where winds may gust to 50+ knots, or 55-60 mph around 5 a.m.
Be prepared for locally damaging wind gusts of 50-70 MPH through 7 a.m.
There were over 12,000 power outages across the state at 4 a.m.
