January Summary for Hamden

January was a changeable month for temperatures, here at my station in Hamden. For almost the first 3 weeks, the temperatures were frequently above normal. Many days featured high into the 40's, and lows were often into the 20's and 30's. Around the 3rd week temperatures became frigid, and between the 21st and 26th the temperatures stayed below freezing! Then on the 30th there was a surge of warm air the boosted temperatures well into the 50's. In the end despite the below freezing week, the month averaged above normal!
Snowfall and precipitation was below normal as well.
