"February 5 is National Weatherperson's Day, commemorating the birth of John Jeffries in 1744" says the NWS. Jeffries was one of America's first weather observers. He began taking daily weather observations in 1774. Also, he took the first balloon observation in 1784.
I want to wish all individuals in the fields of meteorology, weather forecasting and broadcast meteorology, as well as volunteer storm spotters and observers a Happy National Weatherperson's Day! Thank you all! I appreciate all your time and effort you dedicate to all the fields of meteorology. I hope you all have a great day and good luck for those forecasting on the tough forecast for Friday into Saturday's potential event!
