Blizzard 2013 was a long duration event here in Hamden, starting around 8am Friday to 8am Saturday. At first the snow was light with a few inches falling by early Friday afternoon, then around 6pm, the snow became heavy with a mix of sleet and very strong winds. The snow fell at rates of 4 or 5 inches per hour overnight. During the night there were numerous town plows stuck on the road in front of my house.

Finally, by this morning the snow averaged out to be about 33 inches with higher drifts. Getting out of my house was impossible at first, as no doors opened. Finally in the end, I had to remove a glass storm window to get out, since the storm door would not push open. As you can see in the above picture my car was completely engulfed in the snow. As of 2pm, I am still snowed in here in Hamden.
