The blizzard brings back so many memories for me. I am originally from Rochester, New York. For those who don't know me, I am from a family of nine. My brother called me who lives in Portland, Oregon and he wanted to know how I was doing. He asked if I remembered the Blizzard of 1966. Let's say I was 13 then. He had a paper route then the papers would come to our house and I had to put the weekly coupons together. In the morning I would go with him, then we had to put the papers where the people told us. The Blizzard of 1966 was no different, only the fact that the would pick me up and throw me over the snow banks to get to the house. If we did it right, we would get bigger tips. I lost a boot in the snow, mom was not happy about that, but it was life. I did find it after the snow melted.
This story has a nice ending, I met this great family and I stayed with them for the whole summer. To this day, we are the best of friends. I still call them and every time I go to Rochester we try to get together.
